This is a superb and heavy Fiddle Back Victorian Silver Sugar Sifter Ladle, by George W Adams (Chawner & Co), with a good pierced bowl. Chawners were a most important mid 19thc firm of spoon makers. It is hallmarked for London 1846. The length is 6.5 inches, and the bowl is 2 inches in circumference. The weight is 46.8g The condition for the age is good, with no dents or scratches. A truly delightful ladle.
