LOVELY VICTORIAN SILVERPLATE MERIDEN BUTTER CASTOR PRECIOUS FINAL AND STORYBOOK CHILD MOTIF ON BOWL CA. 1870 - 1890 This is a lovely footed victorian butter castor that was made by the Meriden Silver co. in Meriden Connecticut back in the late 1800's. It is hallmarked with the meriden logo and production number on the bottom of the feet. This butter castor is simply lovely. The silverplate is excellent and the set is just radiant. The two butter knife supports are present and in perfect shape. T is a a one letter monogram on the lid, which is a lovely scroll "S". We were unable to find any damage on this set except for a tiny teenie ding that I did not even see, my wife found it, but it was just too small and too difficult to photograph. If your looking for a beautiful victorian set, this is a good one. It stands at just over 8 inches in height and it is about 8 inches in diameter. My Aunt was a nurse in WW1 stationed in France and then spent years as an artist and antiquarian traveling the world. She loved antiques and taking care of them. Please view my other items as we are selling her home belongings over the coming year and she has some exquisite pieces. I hope this goes to a nice home that loves antiques as much as she did. Thank you for bidding and please, send along any questions you have before bidding. NO RESERVE
