GORGEOUS AUTHENTIC VICTORIAN CASTER CONDIMENT SET WONDERFUL SET OF 5 MATCHING CRYSTAL ETCHED LONG NECK CRUETS LOVELY ORNATE HOTEL SIZE FRAME ca. 1865 - 1890 This Castor set is fabulous!! Many castor sets have something wrong, but this set is just beautiful, and in awesome condition. The set was made in the late 1800's by the Hartford Silver Co. in Hartford, Connecticut. What makes this set so nice is that it has all the original matching etched bottles that are square in shape with lovely etched floral patterns. This is one of the larger sets in Glady's collection and stands at just over 17 inches. The handle just makes this set stand out, with a precious bird centered in the victorian motif. The silverplating is excellent and if polished, might shine even more, though it would not be necessary...this set radiates. The glass cruet bottles are all in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or damage of any kind. Even the stoppers look excellent. The silverplating on the lids is also perfect and the hinged mustard works great. I think it would definately make a statement in any formal setting especially on a holiday table setting. Perfect for the discriminating collector. My Aunt was a nurse in WW1 stationed in France and then spent years as an artist and antiquarian traveling the world. She loved antiques and taking care of them. This particular castor set is part of her collection and she took very good care of her antiques. Please view my other items as we are selling her home belongings over the coming year and she has some exquisite pieces. I hope this goes to a nice home that loves antiques as much as she did.
