BEAUTIFUL AUTHENTIC VICTORIAN SILVERPLATE C ASTOR CONDIMENT SET Lovely Set with all Matching Cruet Bottles ca. 1880 This is a lovely victorian table condiment or castor set. This particulat set was made in the late 1800's during the victorian period by the Meriden Silver co. in Meriden, Connecticut. It is clearly hallmarked on the bottom with their logo and production number. What makes this set so nice is the fact that all the bottles match and are in excellent condition. This set has lovely etched feather patterns around each bottle and the silverplate tops all match as well. The castor set has a splendid depiction of a small girl playing in the garden with birds, arbor, flowers, rabbits, etc. Just absolutely lovely and in such nice condition. The body of the castor turns so that you may select which bottle you want. The three glass inserts are in very nice condition (see picture) with some teenie flea bites on the ends of the stoppers. The only flaw I could find was a flea bite on the edge of one of the oils w the stopper goes in...can't even see it with the stopper in which is so typical of these sets and their age. The handle is so ornate and has a deco feel to it, even though this was made in the 1880's. This is a gorgeous set. The set stands at approximately a Tall 15 inches in height and 7 inches in diameter at it's widest section on the revolvng skirt. A little bit of tarnish, but I thinkl this set would polish up quite nicely. It is very bright and attractive and would make a wonderful statement on any table setting. This castor condiment set would certainly compliment any home decor or holiday setting. We hope this goes to someone who loves antiques. Thank you for bidding and good luck. NO RESERVE As noted in my other auctions, I am not a dealer or in the antique business. I am selling some collections that came out of my Aunt's home on Nantucket Island, Mass. She collected antiques and traveled the world from 1905-1948 as a nurse. She was an artist and lover of poetry and it is our hope that these items my family is selling, will go to homes that appreciate antiquities as did my Aunt. My goal is to exceed your expectations. Please email me with your questions or concerns. Please do not wait until after you have bid and/or won the auction to contact me with your inquiries. It is impossible for me to be an expert on the items I am selling so I do my very best to describe the items in detail and I take several pictures. I realize the condition of an item can vary depending on the person who is looking at it, so I am depending on you to ask specific questions if I have not given you enough details or should you like to correct something that I may have stated incorrectly. I welcome any help or knowledge you can share with me. Please read the entire description and look at the pictures carefully prior to bidding. It also helps it you can e-mail me with any questions 24 hrs prior to the close of the auction. My aim is to give all of you an honest and accurate description of the items my family is listing As in any live auction, it is the potential bidders responsiblity to be completely informed about what they are bidding on. I guarantee my items to be as described and photographed. My Aunt's collections also came from purchases she made in her hunt for fine antiquities, and as such, many of the items I place for auction, have been a part of other peoples lives so scratches, dings, dents, chips and cracks, etc. are to be expected. Knowing this I attempt to describe these imperfections as I find them. I am a VERY honest seller so you may bid without concern. Shipping and Payment Information Successful bidder will pay shipping and handling fees. I try to keep shipping and handling to a minimum, but please realize that these costs include packing material, time, and driving to and from the post office. We try to break even on shipping. We recycle shipping supplies as much as possible, so if you get a...
