GORGEOUS AUTHENTIC VICTORIAN CELERY CASTER CONDIMENT SET BEAUTIFUL GREEN CRYSTAL GLASS INSERT WITH FLORAL MOTIF CA. 1870 - 1890 This is a lovely Celery Castor set made in the late 1800's by the Homan Silver Co. out of Cincinatti Ohio. This is a gorgeous castor frame and bowl. The frame is silverplate which is in excellent condition and the detail on the handles and supports is very typical for the victorian period. The glass insert has a gorgeous floral relief pattern and the color is breathtaking. I took the best picture of one so you could see. Clearly this does not detract from the beauty of this centerpiece. The bottom of the holder is clearly hallmarked with the Homan logo. The basket stands at approximately 10 inches in height and 10 inches in length, and 7 inches in width. The condition of the glass bowl is almost perfect. T are a couple of very small dings or chips to the edges of some teeth on the top of the bowl, but you have to look hard to see them. The basket frame and Celery fork are in excellent condition. I would imagine if someone wanted to polish this, it would shine radiantly. I think it would definately make a statement in any formal setting especially on a holiday table setting.
