LOVELY VICTORIAN PICKLE CASTOR JAR INSERT CA. 1870 - 1890 Lovely authentic amber yellow glass victorian pickle castor jar with seated base for a pickle frame. The Jar had a small piece of paper in it that I have to assume Gladys put t, that stated this was a rare crackle pickle jar. I looked on ebay and could not find one similar, but if you are familiar with pickle castors, maybe you know about crackle jars. The body of the jar looks like it has hundreds of small cracks, and t are also swirls in the glass. The bottom clearly has a pontal mark. It stands at 4.5 inches in height, and has a top diameter of 2.75 inches and the base is roughly 3.25 - 3.5 inches in diameter...hard to measure since it is curved. As with the other in our auction, we did not have the holder with this, and it was also an orphan on the top shelf. Maybe you have a spare holder? The condition of the jar is excellent with no damage whatsoever. This may be a good find for the collector. This set came out of my Aunt's estate on Nantucket. My Aunt was a nurse in WW1 stationed in France and then spent years as an artist and antiquinarian traveling the world. She loved antiques and taking care of them. Please view my other items as we are selling her home belongings over the coming year and she has some exquisit pieces. I hope this goes to a nice home that loves
