VICTORIAN Solid Silver BACHELOR TEA SET 1898 Hallmarked Chester 3 Piece NR Birmingham - Superb Design & Condition - 12+ troy oz. This is a really outstanding, substantial and elegant English ANTIQUE VICTORIAN solid sterling silver THREE PIECE BACHELOR TEA SET that was made in Birmingham, England in 1898, by the famous Victorian silversmith, William Aitken at his Vyse Street workshops. This wonderfully stylish and fine quality set comes from a private country house and is in superb condition. It consists of a beautiful teapot, a pretty milk jug and a two handled sugar bowl. Every piece is fully hallmarked with W.A, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark), three sheaves, P showing that each piece was hallmarked in Chester in 1898. This wonderful set has a stunning and very stylish Victorian shape with half reeded sides, loop handles and a fruit wood handle and finial to the teapot. This set is a bachelor sized tea set and is of really good quality. The set weighs 387.4 grams - giving a total weight of virtually 12 1/2 troy oz. This set is NOT engraved. The teapot (capacity of well over 3/4 imperial pint) measures 3 3/8" wide, over 8 1/4" from spout to handle and stands 4 5/8" tall.
