Antique Solid Sterling Silver 'Apostle Spoon' with Twisted Handle Charles Stuart Harris (1889) This beautiful, sterling silver (.925) 'Apostle' spoon, is in excellent condition with no nicks, chips or cracks. The solid silver figure at the end of the piece, serving as a decorative handle, is without flaw. The stem connecting the cup to the handle on this spoon is made of solid sterling silver as well, and has a 'twisted' design. This piece is hall marked as having been made in London, in 1889, by renowned silversmith Charles Stuart Harris. It has all necessary marks authenticating this age/provenance (see last photo). This piece is a very collectible item, as Apostle Spoons were very popular during Tudor times and often presented as 'Christening gifts.'
