This is an old piece of furniture, not sure of exact age. But believed to be at least early 1900's if not older (by word of previous owners). The wood may be walnut? T is some type of damage or spotting on one of the arms as shown in closeup photo, maybe a water stain? A close up of front bottom shows a small piece of wood that is discolored and needs re-gluing. Some of the joints need a re-gluing as well, but sofa is sturdy and can be used "as is". The dark gold velvet is in very good condition and all tufted areas are snug. The bottom is of wood construction as shown and the legs are on casters. The closeup of front leg shows a long scratch, this is not a crack. This item is for pickup in the Southern Maryland area, near DC, Annapolis, Baltimore and Northern Va.
