This rare and unusually large piece of Tartanware was purchased from a Grand Chateau in Burgundy, France a few years ago. The Victorian photograph album is decorated with the "Prince Charles" tartan and it also has a bare breasted female full figure sculpture pictured on the front cover. T are 25 pages that take two pictures on both sides, the templates are either arched or oval and about 3 and 1/2" by 2". The front cover is in lovely condition, the back cover has some minor scuffs. The page edges have a beautiful, shiny gold gilt as does the ornate brass catch. Catch is in excellent working order. The leather spine is slightly scuffed and has a little spliting at the ends. As expected, this 100 year old album shows some wear inside: about 30-40% of the pages have been repaired with tape (see photo) and/or have labels on them or some writing. None of the pages are loose! Size in inches: 9 by 6 by 2 and 1/4 thick. The buyer pays the shipping and insurance costs. All our items are shipped via insured Priority Mail.
