Hello! Up for auction is a Vintage "Three Graces" Sterling Silver and Carved Shell Cameo Brooch or Pendant! As the artistic subject of this lyrical cameo, the "Three Graces" are the daughters of Zeus ... Greek mythological figures Agilia (Splendor), Euphrosyne (Mirth), and Thalia (Good Cheer). An intense interest in Greco-Roman culture and art during the Victorian era in England and America made mythological subjects an extremely popular theme for cameo jewelry. ~ Hand engraved, this romantic carnelian shell cameo is set in an oval frame with a sterling silver bezel and lip with an applied twisted wire. This wonderful cameo has a bail attached that makes it possible to wear this work of art as a pendant or brooch. Measuring 1-1/4" high and 1" wide, this enchanting cameo is ideal to collect and wear as an heirloom to add to your fine estate jewelry collection. The back of the cameo is open exposing carnelian shell. A pinback with safety clasp is attached to the sterling frame. T is a mark stamped on the frame that I am still trying to decipher. (Check photo) An almost identical, slightly larger cameo is listed online for $195.00 Condition is excellent considering age ... Sterling has not been cleaned. PayPal Only ~ USPS First Class Mail ~ Insurance Required based on winning bid Thank you for your interest in this special "Three Graces" Cameo ... No Reserve Check out my other items ! I will happily combine shipping for multiple items purchased...
