Victorian 14K Gold Photo Locket/Pendant with Intricate Hand Engraving and Tinted Daguerreotype c.1850-60 with attached 15K Gold Watch Chain This is an absolutely delightful Victorian solid 14K gold (1/2) photo locket with a very old tinted daguerreotype of an older refined gentleman (likely a 6th plate) under beveled rock crystal. It has pretty hand-chiseled engraving (resembling a flower) on the outside and a unique beveled edge. The daguerreotype of the older gentleman is in good shape, with just a bid of fading. Locket has a large jump ring/bail at the top, and is currently threaded with a tested 15K Gold Watch chain. I do not think the watch chain and locket were together originally (gold values are different), but they came to be as a set, and will be sold together. Originally the locket had an additional side attached (likely holding a hair memento). Remnants of the original hinge can still be seen. However it has been masterfully converted to a pendant, and looks wonderful when worn this way. The pendant measures 1.50" long x 1" wide The chain measures about 5" long Weighs 12.5 Grams with locket and chain
