Victorian Rolled Gold Locket/Pendant with Old Hand Tinted Photo of Young Girl c.1890 Unique pendant/locket with an old hand-tinted photo of a pretty Victorian girl. Photo lockets and brooches, such as this one, were made to be worn as mourning or love jewelry. Likely this piece was worn by the mother of, or the sweetheart of this young lady. The photo is mounted under glass and surrounded by a rolled gold framework (stamped on the outer edge), which opens out when the top is lifted up and off. The glass is missing from the back, but could be replaced by a watch crystal or with plexiglass.It measures 1.25" long (not including top ring) x 1" inches wide.
