Beautiful Victorian Tunbridgeware combination jewellery box / writing slope, featuring burr walnut panels finely inlaid with rosewood, boxwood, ebony and mahogany. The outer case is excellent with no missing inlay and has warm rich patina, hand made green baise under. The jewel compartment is lined with silver paper and royal blue satin and is in excellent condition but does appear to have a small compatment cover missing at left. Inside the lid is a quilted satin and tooled leather stationery pocket, released with latch at top. Writing slope has tooled leather surface in good order but for top section leather hinge is not functioning although not noticeable. When slope open all top edges in ebony, original polished crystal ink bottle, with cork seal silver screw top excellent for travel. Measures closed 12" by 9" by 6-1/2" high, opened 17" front to back by 12" wide by 14" high.
