This auction is for an antique split lid 6 board woodbox believe to be from the 1840's era.. From an older Lancaster County PA estate.. Constructed of what appears to be walnut (?).. Awesome GRAINING.. Dovetail and square nail.. Dovetail divider.. Cox beaded board on hinge edge with one inch overhang in back.. BEAUTIFUL tall turned feet.. Crisp base molding..A hard to find antique primitive piece that can be used for multiple decorating applications.. Plenty of storage.. Nice size and proportion.. Excellent condition makes it perfect for use as a window seat, hall seat, etc... See photos for details.. SIZE:: 20 1/2" high x 54 1/2" long x 17 3/4" deep CONDITION:: Overall very good.. Solid and sturdy.. Beautiful grain on front board.. Feet solid and intact - no rot, wear or insect damage.. Lid hinges replaced at one time.. Original hinge may have broken and instead of replacing one they replaced all four (unfortunately).. T is no splitting, cracking or chipping w original hinges were positioned..
