Signed E.H. for Ernst Huber and CARTHAGO on front. Inscribed on old cardboard like backing; ERNST HUBER / VIENNA SECESSION / 1926 . Ernst Huber,(1895-1960); attended classes at the Viennese School of Arts and Craft. His first exhibition in 1919 met with success. It 1928 he became one of the Viennese Secession. He exhibited regularly and abroad and is considered one of the most important painters of the Austrian Classical Modernism! The watercolor is in good condition. Slight yellowing, acouple of small stains near upper left corner, and a small lower right corner tear(still there). It has a number penciled in lower right corner, probably from a gallery or exhibition. Style is early and vienna secession! Frame and matting adds approx. another 3" all around. Probably will want a new frame and matting. I Stand behind all items and their descriptions!!!
