RARE Vietnam Pre-1967 Camillus Pilot Survival Knife Up for auction is the nicest of a collection of Camillus Pilot Survival Knives we acquired late last year, a rare early Vietnam-era example dating to pre-1967.� In 1967, Camillus began date-stamping the knives on the pommel with their date of manufacture.� Pilot survival knives made prior to 1967 are tang-stamped CAMILLUS over NY , as is this example.� We truly saved the best for last, as the condition of this particular example is XLNT+ to NEAR MINT .� The blade maintains its original factory edge and has never been sharpened .� As further evidence of its mintiness, it maintains nearly all its original parkerized finish (90+%) and and nearly all its original pommel paint, and there is no rust to be found anywhere on the steel hilt mountings.� The stacked leather washer grip is complete and also in NEAR MINT condition, and this example is even more scarce in that it maintains its sheath, which itself is in near- perfect condition, with no tears, a complete keeper strap, and a sharpening stone that appears unused.� A very nice and early example of an increasingly rare military pattern knife.� We have a couple Ontario examples we are yet to list, but this is it for the Camillus knives, though as mentioned, we saved the best for last!Ask all questions prior to bidding, as all sales
