This auction is for a rearseam, swivel bale American M1 infantry helmet with a Westinghouse liner and all parts dating to 1965-’66. The Steel Helmet: This is a rear seam, swivel bale M1 helmet. It has T-1 left/right OD#7 green cotton webbing chin straps with concussion snap modification and anchor (North & Judd Mfg.-government contractor) strap hardware. Stamped inside the inner lip is “1 9423”. Condition Statement: There are no stress cracks , a little rust and small dents on this helmet. See detail photo. (dated: unknown contractor/date but probably McCord Radiator Co.) The Liner: This is Westinghouse (Westinghouse Electric & Light Company-government contractor) Type I infantry liner complete with all parts present. It has all webbing, “A” washer/rivets, and a proper head band. It is dome-stamped “US 4” (mold #4). Condition Statement: This liner is in good condition with the webbing and “A” washers in good-used condition showing some fraying and soiling. The paint shows normal wear. The “A” washers have normal rust/corrosion on them. There is a small chip on the rear edge (see photo) and some fraying on the edges, neither of which affect the liner.
