Interesting and Good Working condition 1968 (see date codes on bottom) Vietnam War Zippo. Cover shuts close and tight hinge with the Zippo "Klink" when you open. This zippo was Presented by General of the Army , Chief of Staff W.C Westmoreland! Mr Westmoreland became the boss of all US forces stationed in South Vietnam in 1968 and this zippo was made in the same year to celebrate his appointment.A similar example can be found on page 161 of Jim's excellent vietnam war book. Mr Westmoreland passed on 2 years ago and took with him all the memories of the Vietnam war. Top cover engraved "Saigon 1968" and back "He how has learned to obey will know how to command" very true and applies not just in the army but even to working life in general. Own a piece of Vietnam war history! My Zippos are not the brass brown colored "engraved bottom fakes" , all are original period zippos from the 1960s and early 1970s.Owner will be happy with the zippo.The inserts are also from original period pieces and thorougly checked.
