The frame is gold gilt molded with beaded rank Size: SS 15.5 x 20.25, OS 21 x 26 Condition: Very Good About the Artist: Joseph Garibaldi (1863 1941), born in Marseilles, France, painter of landscapes and marines. Garibaldis work has been displayed in Paris since 1883, but his art carries out the essence of his career in Marseilles, where he takes part in particular in the exposé of 1906 and the many shows of the Marseilles artists. His work is largely inspired by Province. He primarily painted provincial landscapes, generally of Marseilles, Cassis and its surroundings. Other known examples include A Village in Province and Scene Fos on Sea. One can see some of his works in the museums of Aix-en-Province (Granet) Avignon, Marseilles, Martiques, Arras, Beziers, Compie, and Tourcoing.
