Viking Horseman's Shield Available is a very unique shield inspired by the Riders of Rohan in the Lord of the Rings books/movies. The shield is made of a smooth composite wood which is considerably stronger than plywood. Stainless steel studs line the border and a heavy aluminum disc has been bolted in the center. Please Note: This aluminum plate is very strong; it is not weak or thin, and should hold up well against the rigors of combat. The painted surface of the shield has also been applied with several coats of varnish to protect it from wear. On the shield's backside, dual leather straps are used to secure the arm. The shield measures about 25 inches in diameter--more than enough to cover your arm up to the elbow. This would be perfect for that upcoming Renaissance Festival in your area. Or some backyard brawling between friends.... Trust me, pictures can't do this wonderful shield justice, or show the time that I put into building it. Would also make a great gift for that Renaissance-enthusiast you know! Because of the size and weight of the shield, buyer to pay $21.99 shipping. Insurance is extra, if you want it.
