Vincent Price Estate - Autographed Photo of Cary Grant!

This fabulous, vintage photograph of the Cary Grant family--Cary, Dyan (Cannon), and daughter Jennifer--was a gift to the Price family--Vincent, Mary, and Victoria--accompanied by a thank you note. Sent on the stationary of Diane Grant (Dyan Cannon), the note came as a thank you for the present of the Price's cookbook--A Treasury of Great Recipes. The note is signed by Cary and Diane Grant and is dated October 17, 1966. The photograph is also signed. It hung on the wall in Vincent's home until his death. In a hall near his study, Vincent had walls of signed photographs from friends and people whom he admired. The two families knew each other slightly, but never socialized together very much. Like all actors of his generation, Vincent admired Grant tremendously and was a big fan of his films. His wife, Mary, was similarly a big fan of Grant's and recalled one hilarious moment when she first came out to Hollywood and was introduced to the actor with the line, "Mary Grant, meet Cary Grant." Both Vincent and Cary became fathers at an older age. Vincent was one month shy of his 51st birthday when his daughter Victoria was born in 1962. Cary Grant was 62 when his daughter Jennifer was born in 1966. The two girls did not know each, although they attended the same elementary school--Buckley--in Los Angeles. The frame measures 10 3/4" x 8 3/4". The photograph is in excellent condition. The signed note is taped to the back of the frame and is in very good condition. What a special piece for a fan of iconic Old Hollywood!
