This is a sweet-faced vintage vinyl plastic girl doll wearing a traditional costume of Bulgaria. She was acutually made in Moscow, Russia in the former Soviet Union. She is part of a collection made there of various European folk costumed dolls. She has her original tag printed in Russian that tells us this. Bulgaria is in South Eastern Europe in the Balkan Peninsula, bordering Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece, Russia and Turkey. . See map. She is 18" tall. She is all vinyl plastic with jointed legs and arms. Her head and arms are posable. Her legs were posable, but one of the leg joints needs to be fixed. She has her legs bound together under her skirt so that her legs are stable together but not posable and she cannot sit. (see pics) The doll rattles when moved ... probably from a piece of plastic from the injuredleg/hip joint. This is the only major damage, and it would not be a problem if she is used primarily as a display instead of having to move her legs . Her costume and the rest of her is just dandy. Head turns. Brown eyes open and close and have plastic eyelashes on the upper lid. Hair is golden brown. Costume: White cotton under dress with long sleeves and a gathered neck.
