Many of these images were ultimately used in the famed Goudey baseball card sets of the Depression era. This collection consists of of George Burke Baseball negatives primarily from the 1930s. These are rare and original "From the Camera" negatives. We know that these are Burke negatives for a number of reasons. The first, pertains to the serial numbers on some of the negatives. Select serial numbers have been matched to signed vintage prints. Others in the series are consistent with those of George Burke. Also, the same serial numbers are on his sale lists from the 1930s and 1940s. The negatives been examined by photo experts (Leland's Auction) and brought to the National Baseball Hall of Fame by the previous owner. They have confirmed that these negatives are by Burke.
