Beautiful Vintage Green Guilloche~Enamel Brass/ Bronze CandleSticks With Glass Shades Signed : Elegance~EVANS~within the Company Crest (In my photo they appear to be numbered: 171), however when looking at the crest, I do not see any numbers~ Made by The Evans Company or Evans Case Company, Famous for their specialized (many enameled/guilloched) Compacts, Lighters and other items from the 1920s onward... a little info (via google) here: EVANS: United States. Established as the D. Evans Case Co in North Attleboro, Mass. in the early 1920s. Manufacturing compacts as early as the 1920s. Famous for their mesh bottomed compacts and their guilloche enamel. At some point in time, they became a division of Hilsingor Corp of Plainville, Mass. Disappeared after 1965. The Evans Company (also known as The Evans Case Company and The Evans Lighter Company), located in Attleboro Massachusetts first began as handbag and accessory manufacturer in the early teens. By the early to mid 20s they began producing lighters using the lift arm system, similar to the system used by Alfred Dunhill except that the flint wheel was mounted vertically rather than horizontally.
