This auction is for a vintage Chocolate set from Noritake. This is a beautiful 11 pc. set consisting of Chocolate pot, 4 cups and saucers, and tray. Picture # 3 shows the backstamp, a green M inside a wreath with Handpainted, Made in Japan at the bottom. The Chocolate pot measures 6 1/2 inches tall with the lid on x 6 1/4 inches from tip of spout to edge of handle x 4 inches in diameter at the base. Cups measure 2 inches tall x 1 3/4 inches in diameter. Saucers measure 4 1/8 inches in diameter. Tray measures 12 inches in diameter with an upturned edge. This set is amazing looking. T are no cracks or chips, and the gold is very good to excellent. I do see that one cup has a dark dot inside which is typical with fine porcelain. T is also a tiny mark or scuff on the tray. This was an estate sale find. When I opened the Chocolate pot, I found a ribbon prize from a local fair. If you collect Noritake, you will love this.
