This is an unbelievable find , its a 14k yellow gold Heuer Chronograph men's wristwatch in the original box with the original guarantee papers dated January 13th 1947 from the Heuer watch co., 630 fifth avenue, New York. I had it cleaned and appraised on May 6, 2008 and is in great working order. The appraisal will accompany it to its new owner and was valued at at least $5,000.00 excluding sales tax. The band is after market but is genuine leather that appears to be alligator and is 11/16 R, made by Speidel. It has square button split-seconds chronograph, register, tachometer, and telemeter features. Case is 14k yellow gold three body, solid, polished and with brushed triangular lugs. Silver-white dial with painted Arabic numerals and indexes, secondary sub-dials for the seconds and 30-minute register, with outer tachometer and telemeter graduations, yellow gold alpha hands. Movement is 17 jewel mechanical rhodium-plated "Heuer #405878". Dial signed "Heuer, Beyer Zurich, Swiss made","103 14k 585" and numbered "74186" case diameter 36 mm. Thickness 13mm. Originally retailed by Beyer of Zurich. circa 1947. T are a couple flaws as I see them, those being two small sets of scratches on the crystal face that w hard to get a picture of, had to get the watch at just the right angle and light to show up but are not that noticeable to the naked eye (see picture). The second involves the box, its in relatively good shape with the fabric and velvet in good clean, stain free condition but the "leather" outer cover has split along the hinge side on back. Some one over the years has "repaired" it with a piece of scotch tape that I have left alone for fear of doing further damage. The fabric and upholstery holds the lid to the box quite well and they do not separate from each other. Considering this watch, box and paper is 61+ years old it is in phenomenal condition in my opinion, however, I am not a dealer or collector of fine watches and can only describe from a layman's point of view. Please look closely at the many photos and if you have any questions I will do my best to answer. If you want more pictures I would be happy to e-mail them to you. Due to the relative ease of counterfeiting checks, money orders, and cashiers checks I am only accepting PayPal for a payment option. Because of the value I will insist on insurance for this item and will pack carefully and ship next day via U.S.P.S. priority certified mail. You must be present to sign for package.
