VINTAGE 14K GOLD MESH CHAIN WATCH 40 GMS SCRAP OR WEAR Description W do I start: 40 GRAMS 14 karat yellow gold, weighed without watch movement, 44 grams total with watch movement and acrylic crystal. This piece is vintage 1960's, was just inspected, cleaned and authenticated by local jeweler. The pictures on the white background were taken before he cleaned the chain and case, I had noticed some staining at the solder points w the watch case meets the chain and w the knots are fashioned. This chain is a 22 inch wearable length, it's about 1/8 inch or so wide. I can put it on over my head without unclasping, then t is a 7 inch drop with the watch between the two knots and then the end tassle. It would measure 36 inches end to end. Jeweler informed me that the watch itself is a 17 jewel Swiss movement, he mentioned the maker, but I didn't jot it down, thought I could remember it, it sounded French. The watch case is marked 14k as well as the necklace clasp. Jeweler explained that everything is gold, except the watch movement and crystal. The clasp is a double fold over, and works perfectly. The chain itself is a mesh construction, has a few bumps, but jeweler tells me it's easy to restore, but tedious, that it's constructed like chain maille.
