Art Deco Era 1930's Vintage Glass Foil "Lava" bead necklace is strung non-knotted and is 15 3/4" long including about 3/8"of slack (15 3/8" of beads). The oval graduated beads measure approx 12 X 20mm largest to 6 X 8mm smallest and are an orange to burnt orange flashing glowing molten color with areas of silvery flash -each bead a handmade piece of art. As found in an estate of old jewelry, this is one of only two such lava style necklaces, check my other auctions for the other one, longer and slightly different. Of note: old-strung on a fine chain with vintage box clasp works fine with a little excess chain bunched at the clasp connection but is safe. Note: An uneven number of beads to each side of center indicates a missing small bead on one side- the necklace is a bit offcenter because of this and one of the larger beads is damaged, missing half, though is not sharp or jagged. Please see all photos. I believe these are Czech but the clasp is unmarked. Beads have bright and glossy surfaces 30 Foil Lava beads in all. Small spacer beads are plain. A rare and beautiful find!
