Here is a TERRIFIC 10 X 16 inch Andrew Jackson Signed Presidential Land Grant from 1836, one of the earliest versions we have handled, for land in Batesville, Arkansas for a William Russell. It is ornately written and being sold as signed by his personal secretary, although it was a little more more common for these early land grants prior to 1840 to be signed by the president. The grant is in collectable condition, on stiff, heavy vellum period stock that has the normal fold lines from being safely tucked away in the Land Office for well over a century at 175 plus years. This particular grant still has the valued Land Office Seal attached and is an official period document. It is faded from age, but present and there is a small hole mentioned for the sake of accuracy. I cannot stress enough display value of this grant and several others that I will be listing on ebay as I thin out my personal presidential collection. The ornate handwriting is a lost art, and this particular document features a magnificent autograph signature signed for the President, who to this day adorns the $20 bill, and was quite an historic Tennessee figure and a contemporary of Davy Crockett, making this quite a conversation piece.
