This beautiful and unique vintage 1847 Rogers Bros . Coffee & Tea Set is from the private collection of one of Philadelphia's prominent families. The set was probably acquired sometime around the early-to-mid 1950s and is in remarkably good condition. Each piece has considerable heft to it, having the look and feel of quality craftsmanship! In all, t are eight (8) individual pieces to the set. Stamped into the bottom of each piece appears the pattern's name "Heritage" along with that of the manufacturer's trademark , "1847 Rogers Bros " just below it. Additionally, each piece is stamped with what I assume is a serial number. The central piece to this collection is a beautiful and rare "Tipping Hot Water Pot". This item alone accounts for three (3) of the pieces in the set. Standing approximately 14" high including the Tiipping Stand and Alchohol Burner , this item is serial numbered 9406. The Tea Pot (the fourth piece in the set) stands approximately 8" high (numbered 9402), and has a pinhead sized dimple on the lid and a slight nick on the lid's rim. The fifth piece is the Coffee Pot (numbered 9401) and measures 9 1/2" in height. It does have slight pitting on the curve of the handle and is missing a hinge pin. The set is rounded out with the sixth piece, a Creamer (numbered 9404) and a Sugar Bowl (numbered 9403) with Lid (the seventh and eigth pieces). Each of these pieces stand approximately 5 1/2" high. On the whole and considering its age, this set remains in excellent condition, retaining much of its original patina. All told, this set represents a fine addition to any admirer's collection!
