Vintage rare 1880's Birmingham Jack Plane with original blade. Blade says "The Birmingham Plane MFG Company Conn". It measures 14 inches by 2 1/2 inches. Appears to have been in dry storage as t is no apparent rust. Japaning is about 85% and the rest of the plane is in very fine condition except the adjuster gearbox has chips in 7 of the 20 adjusters, however, the blade seems to adjust just fine. Also, w the blade meets the bottom t is normal wearing and a very minor chip, but I would it consider it normal use. The overall condition of the plane is in very fine condition considering its age and rarity.
