Authentic Early 1900's View of Shan-hai China Postcard Unused This item came from the estate of a 96 year-old relative whose husband served in World War I. These have been stored away from light all these years and were found in a box. I do not know any further history on this but will describe as accurately as possible. I can only assume that the printed letters/characters on the postcard is either Chinese or Japanese as I do not know the difference but they are made in Japan and feature a China scene. 1. On the bottom front is printed Rail-way Station of Shan-kai-kwan, and then Chinese characters The back has Post Card at the top, a decorative block for the stamp, more characters on the right side and a squiggly line to separate the sides. 2. The depiction on the front of card: The black and white picture is of countryside and printed on bottom is Shan-hai kwah Chinese and tehn Chinese text. The back has Union Postale Universelle Carte Postale at the top an squiggly square for the stamp Character text on the left and right and a divider line with Made in Japan. 3. On bottom front is printed View of Shan-hai China, and then Chinese text. T is a building and trees in the picture as well as people sitting on the banks.
