For sale is an early (1908) Fuller's Calculator having a Keuffel & Esser Co. (K&E) label both inside the original wood case, and on the calculator (see small plaque in photos). It is âeoeas foundâe, untouched, very well cared for, and fresh to the market. The Calculator is a finely made instrument consisting of cylindrical scales (one slides & rotates), brass pointers, and an extendable brass core with mahogany wood end plates. It has a removable wood handle that mounts to the calculator via wooden threading which results in a snug and secure fit. When placed in the case, the handle is stored within the core. At the base of one of the brass pointers is engraved 2567 above 1908, a serial number and year of manufacture. The scales include markings, âeoeSTANLEY Maker LONDON,âe and, âeoeFULLERS SPIRAL SLIDE RULE.âe According to web research, K&E marketed these instruments from 1895 to 1927, and only the Fuller Model 1. The Calculator is in excellent old condition with a warm patina . The scales have uniform color and finish, with few blemishes. See photos. The scales appear fully readable. The mahogany wood parts retain a beautiful finish with few blemishes. The original instruction manual is missing, but repros are obtainable. The mahogany Case is 14âe long, 4âe tall, and 4 3/8âe front to back. The caseâe(tm)s leather carrying handle is long gone but a photo shows its profile and w it was attached. Both rotating hooks to latch the lid shut remain, but one of the brads is gone. The lock remains, but not the key. The Case is in excellent old condition and appears to retain the original finish. Inside, photos show the K & E paper label, and the felt lined curved support blocks for the calculator are in fine condition. Photographs provide information about objects, but as anyone who has handled a Fuller of this age and condition will agree, the experience is much to appreciate. Photos are of the actual auction item, and the condition is described to the best of my ability. I am not an antique calculator expert. Please use " Ask seller a question " if you have one. This is an antique item auction and a final sale unless the listing is materially inaccurate. *** Buyer will pay postage / shipping and insurance. Insurance is highly recommended, but buyers option, unless the listing states it is required. MO preferred, and will get the item quickest out the door.
