RARE! Vintage 1918 Johnson Oil Refining Co - Motor Oil Can - Gas & OilDESCRIPTION: Up for auction is rare motor oil can from the Johnson Oil Refining Co. that was located in Chicago Heights, Illinois. It’s dated by the code on the side that reads: Pam Can Co 53A. 1-18. It measures 6 ¼ inches tall including the spout and 5 5/8 inches across and 8 ½ inches long.(If you want to read up on the company’s history you can find a nice article at Primarily Petroliana by searching for the Company of the Month for April, 2004: “Johnson Oil Refining Company 2004.” Sorry, eBay won’t let me put a link in a listing.)CONDITION: Please study the photos and judge for yourself. Note there are the typical scratches, missing paint and dents you’ll find on a 95 year old can. Plus the top shows a one inch slit along the edge. No attempt to clean the can has been made.
