A couple of years ago we obtained many items from an attic and basement of an old home in downtown Louisville. T were tons of pictures, letters, postcards, and more. Many items we have kept because they were actually hard to part with after reading so much about the people. The family did a lot of traveling and one of the daughters traveled to Alaska w she lived for a time. She was a nurse and a teacher and lucky for us, she liked to take pictures. She actually taught school in Hydaburg, Alaska. We have already sold a small group of loose pictures that had writing on the backs to identify them. This is actually a photo album and most of the pictures are glued to the black pages. Some have come loose but are still in the album, and most of the pages have actually come loose from the album itself. I counted 400 pictures so I would guesstimate t are at least 375 to be on the safe side. Some of the pictures have writing in the margins but most do not. Unfortunately it makes it difficult to verify exactly what area they are from. I've seen Alaska photos from Cordova, Seward, Hydaburg and others. T are many from Rainier, and a canyon that I believe may be the grand canyon. I've seen some from Atlantic city, Minnesota, and their house in Louisville but the majority are either Alaska, Rainier, or what I believe is the Grand Canyon area. T is a picture that was taken of Roosevelt in a car waving to the crowd and it measures about 7 inches wide and 5 inches tall. The Roosevelt picture is a little weak on 2 corners w it has come loose from the album page. T are a few real picture type postcards in the album and as you can see, she made a list of her students in the 1928 school year. 95% of the pictures are from the 1920's but t are some from the 30's. T is a couple of pictures in the book of the owner. She appears to be wearing a pair of gauntlet gloves. We currently have them listed and think they are probably the same ones in the pictures.
