UPSTAIRS DOWNSTAIRS DOWNTON ABBEY LOOK Genuine Antique Garment This stunning silky pretty top or bedjacket has been in my family since at least the 1930s I don't think it's been worn since then In creamy silky fabric - I think it's called Crepe de Chine - with lace insert down the front and pink bows at the neck and sleeves, it's very pretty I think it's from the 1930s Art Deco period But it could be earlier - maybe from the twenties It's in great condition for something so old It looks fab But as you would expect it doesn't look spanking brand new There is a bit of a mark on the shoulder - I don't know what it is but I think it should be covered by lovely long hair And while examining it very closely to list on ebay I noticed a mark at the front by the lace insert But as this is a loose garment - unless you choose to belt it - this may well not show And someone who knows what they are doing and understands delicate fine classy antique fabrics - may well be able to remove the marks I have clinched in the waist for the pictures but it actually hangs wide and loose and has two side splits
