This is an exquisite quality vintage 1920's art deco .60 carat (a little more than half) diamond filagree ring in 18k white gold. The diamond is VS clarity and rated HJ in color. Diamond is a genuine bright white old European cut and is very brilliant! This ring is a family piece and belonged to my grandmother who married in 1926. I've held on to it for years but it needs to be worn and enjoyed! Ring size is a 6. Inscribed inside ring band is "Belais" and 18k". The intricate design is exceptional! Diamond sits up high and is surrounded by exquisite filigree work (see closeups). Ring is in superb flawless condition! I am also selling another antique 14k gold diamond ring that is also a family piece (see last 3 pics). Feel free to ask all questions for a prompt reply! LOW starting bid and no reserve. Winning bidder to pay within 7 days or item will be relisted. Thanks for looking and best of luck!
I thought it'd be best to provide a written appraisal for the potential buyer so I went out today to obtain one. is what it says: " Ladies 18k white gold antique 6-prong basket style mounting by Belais containing a European cut diamond weighing .665 cts., I J color and VS1 clarity. The basket section is heavier than normal and measures 8mm high. This ring appears hardly worn and is in like new condition. Actual value (not for insurance purposes) is $2,500.00. Please also read the comment sent to me by a kind ebayer that I included in this auction. The Belais Bros. actually invented the white gold process and held the patent to it in the early 20th c. Their rings today are hard to come by and are considered rare and valuable. They are among *the finest* in white gold filigree mountings and are known for their quality and attention of exquisite detailing! Many jewelers I asked were not familiar with Belais rings, obviously they do share the familarity, as say, Tiffany, but are of similar quality! Please check the internet to find out for yourself! Also, the size of the diamond on this ring is actually LARGER than I originally listed. I was going by approximate size before, but the ACTUAL size is almost 3/4 of a carat, weighing in at .665 cts. Please keep this in mind when bidding.
