VINTAGE 1920'S REGAL TENOR GUITAR Here's a vintage Regal tenor guitar masterfully crafted from flamey oldgrowth Hawaiian koa. It has a two piece spruce top with a factory inlaid gutta percha pickguardand floating Gabon ebony bridge. The neck is maple with Brazilian rosewood fretboard and walnut headstock overlay. The back and sides are Hawaiian koa that is en fuego. The front and back are bound in black celluloid that's in excellent condition. The soundhole is also bound and bordered with marquetry purfling. There is some light finish crazing on the back and sides. The top and fretboardhave been finely oversprayed a long time ago. There is a dime size ding on the upper bout treble side shoulder and a few scratches down by the nickel tailpiece. None of these are major and the finishes and appointments are, overall , in very nice condition. Please see the photos for a better idea.The action on this guitar is fast and low with an elegantly sculpted shallow "v"profile neck. Action @12th fret high and low E is 3/32". . The neck is very straight with moderate wear to the frets and fretboard - there's still plenty of playing life left in both.Original screw in, friction style tuners are in great shape and do not slip.
