Vintage 1930's Teacher Rare Button Plastic or Vegetable Ivory ~ Realistic, Goofie, Kiddie Button Tiny starting bid ~ no reserve ~ FREE SHIPPING! This fun button that is part of the unusual Schoolroom set of the 1930s features a stick figure lady with spike hair holding her finger in the air. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't have wanted this strict gal as my teacher! The other buttons in the set include tic tac toe, dunce, sis, 1st reader, and 6 +5 = 13 (somebody needs to take math over again). This button is shown in several of the button books for collectors including Fun Buttons by Peggy Ann Osborne (page 83) and Antique and Collectible Buttons, Identification and Values by Debra J Wisniewski (page 112). More details: Material: Not sure if it's vegetable ivory, Bakelite, celluloid, or another type of plastic. The books I've consulted seem to conflict.
