Vintage Nelson McCoy pottery matte green 1940s Deco style figural lion planter. The Hanson, Nissen, Hanson book of McCoy Pottery includes this planter as one of the top 100 finds of McCoy pottery. It has the USA NM mark on the bottom of the lion's tail. The bottom is flat and dry (unglazed). He measures approx. 8½'' long and 4¾'' tall. T are a couple of the teeny glaze pops and extra clay specks common to McCoy pottery. T are no cracks but t is a chip at the bottom, as shown below.
