Up for auction is a stunning red calf-length formal dress made by Silk Chantilly Lace in the 1940s! The dress was made in France. The body of the dress under the lace is a strapless red silk satin form. It is covered by the gorgeous red lace - with an illusion neckline and cap/wing sleeves. The dress is very form filling. It contains a sash at the waist in red silk satin that includes a beautiful red silk satin bow off center to the left side of the waist. The tails of the bow are very wide and extend to the hem of the gown (see pictures). The tag on the dress says "Silk Chantilly Lace" "Made in France". The dress fits my size 6 form, so I imagine it is a size 6. It is hand cut, hand sewn - a work of art. The quality is amazing. Little to no damage that I can see!!!!
