I am offering at auction this set of wedding cake toppers that I bought at an estate sale. They were actually used by a 92 year old woman on her wedding cake in 1941 before her husband left to serve in WWII. The figures' clothes are made of crepe paper and they have hand drawn facial features. The bride carries a large bouquet of paper leaves and white flowers. Her veil is net with a matching white flower at the top. The soldier has plastic over his head under his cap and is attached to a round cardboard base. The bride's dress is fitted over a cardboard cone and there is a wire running the length of the cone to the bottom to attach her to the top of the cake. These are in amazing condition considering their age but the bride's dress and veil have yellowed. The groom is about 5 3/4" tall and the bride 5 1/2" tall. They are very desirable items for your WWII or antique doll collection.
