Vintage 1941 Zenith "Universal-Portable" Tube Radio Model 6G601MUp for auction is this nice Portable Zenith radio with installation and operating instruction booklet. The sail boat cloth over the speaker is in great condition, no rips or frays. On off switch snaps crisply. The dial knob works and turns smoothly. The lens over the dial is nice and clear with a few scratches, the bottom of the lens is bowed in a bit. On both the right and left side edges there are staples visible ( it looks like a hole on the right side but isn't). The case of course shows regular use with regular type wear/patina. Latches have some rust on them as do the hinges but they work fine. One of the bottom foot pegs is missing so be careful where you set this until you replace it. I thought the new owner would like to replace all four to match. The handle is original but was broken so it has been glued together, so at the moment it is for looks only until replaced.This radio does work. It brings in our 2 local stations nice and loud. There is a hum in between stations.As with all old radios, I cannot guarantee that something will not shake loose or stop working during shipment, but every pre-caution will be taken to make sure that you get the radio in the same condition that it leaves.
