I am selling a rare 1946/47 Smokey Bear poster from my collection. This is not a reprint. This poster is 18"x 25 1/4" and is printed on light to medium stock. It doesn't appear to have ever been displayed. I have tried to show the flaws as best I can in the photos. There is a 1 inch tear in the side (photo 2) tape has been placed on the back to prevent further damage , a small hole in Smokey's chest (photo 8) this hole was more of a tear and the paper was moved back and tape has been placed on the back of the poster to prevent tearing, there is a small crease on Smokey's chest as seen in (photo 3), and the remainder are stains or small areas along the border ( photos 4,5,6) which do not impact the main field of the poster. Photo number 9 is just to show how great the colors are on this poster . This poster is 65 years old . If I were to rate this poster on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best I would think it would be avery strong 7+. This poster will be shipped rolled in cardboard tube with insurance based on winning bid due to rare nature of this item. You will not see many (if any) of this poster anywhere in the market place.
