Vintage 1946 Restored Parker 51 Vacumatic Fountain Pen5 3/8" long capped and 5 15/16" long posted, full-size, Parker color: Cedar Blue , barrel reads: PARKER "51" MADE IN U.S.A. 6... , soild gold firm fine point nib reads: PARKER MADE IN U.S.A. RU PL 1945 , blue diamond clip reads: PARKER, gray pearl cap jewel, Vacumatic filling system. Pen was manufactured during the first quarter of 1946 and the matching nib was manufactured in the fourth quarter of 1945. Pen was completely disassembled, thoroughly hand cleaned and ultrasonically cleaned when needed, micro-meshed, buffed and polished, new diaphragm was coated with talcum powder and installed with water based Vacumatic lubricant, nib and feed channels were scraped clean, and the nib tip was shaped and polished to ensure smooth writing. See condition description and the picture that shows this pen's writing on printer paper, and the writing at the bottom was done on a heavier paper. This fine point nib writes a smooth fine to medium line. Pen will be flushed with water and shipped inside of a pvc tube for safety.I learned the early stages of pen collecting and refurbishment from my grandfather.
