3 DAY AUCTION! Up for auction is a gorgeous original vintage 1947 Lane Cedar/Hope chest. I learned recently how to research the date of this beautiful hope chest from a very kind ebayer and have learned that this chest was manufactured on March 11, 1947. Has divided storage compartment/drawer with original green felt. Original tag and moth insurance policy paper tags are still attached. Wonderful vintage charm, yet would look great in any modern home. As shown in the pictures, there are some normal chips and light scratches expected on a hope chest that is 60+ years old. I believe some Old English would work wonders on this beautiful piece. It has been used lovingly and cherished for many years. It now needs a new home. Due to it's age, it no longer has the cedar smell on the inside. However, I have spoken with someone who is very familiar with Lane cedar chests and if you take a very fine piece of sand paper and rub it gently over the inside of the chest (on the cedar only), the smell will come back to life. Also, he has said that the small chips around the bottom can easily be repaired at a very affordable price. This is a wonderful vintage Lane hope cedar chest and would be perfect in any home.
