Offering an authentic 1948Emil J Paidar barber chair, made in Chicago, Illinois. This chair has sat in the corner of my recreation room since 1979 and sadly, has only been sat in less than 20 times. The chair, with all original parts is in very good condition for its age with no breaks, cracks or repairs. The black upholstery is original and is generally in very nice shape. There are two small cigarette scars on one arm and one on the footrest (see photo). The majority of the chrome & nickel is in very good shape with the usual wear on the foot rests. The headrest is in good shape with all functioning parts. The chair reclines, but at this time I cannot get it to go up or down or turn. May be because it didn't get pumped or turned for 36 years. Sold as is. The chair would be a nice addition to a "man cave". The barber chair is available for viewing or local pickup in zip code 22042 which is about 8 miles west of Washington, DC. Local pickup is free. If you're thinking about shipping, I would crate the chair on a pallet for curbside pickup for an additional $150 and you are responsible for the pickup from the curb, as well as with transportation and insurance. To calculate the shipping weight, figure on 400 lbs, and 5' square. This kind of quality item was made to last.
