I am selling a MUST HAVE vintage December, 1948 Christmas Issue Vogue magazine. Incorporating Vanity Fair. Resort Fashions. Holidays, North and South. ~~NO RESERVES!~~ Complete 1204 pages. Some binding damage. In overall good condition. Filled with tons of great advertisement Incl. Hanes, Reed & Barton Sterling Silver, shoes, stockings, linens, braziers, perfumes, jewelry, minks, etc., etc. 8 pages of School, Camp & Travelog Classifieds make a very interesting read! Belles of the Gibson Girl Ball (Miss Wendy Burden, Mrs. William S. Paley, Mrs. George Abbott and Mrs. Philip Isles) are shown wearing evening gowns designed by Mainbocher especially for the Gibson Girl Ball. The 4 beauties are bringing to life a drawing from Charles Dana Gibson's famous series "The Weaker Sex" (pictured). This Christmas Issue Cover was painted especially for Vogue by Eugene Berman, is his interpretation of the spirit of Christmas, a tender figure approaching in a swirl of slow snowflakes, soft evening blues.
