1950 Schwinn Hornet. This is the first year, before they even said "hornet" on the chainguard. All original parts, paint and decals except for the nearly new 26x2.125" balloon tires on the 26" Schwinn Tubular S-2 rims. It has the skip-tooth sweetheart sprocket. The original Delta Rocket Ray light doesn't light but the horn works. The tank is in extremely nice condition with no rust. It has a New Departure rear hub. Of course it is over 60 years old, so it has some paint scratches and chips and the chrome has some wear and pitting in spots. Their is a little bit of green paint splatters on the left side of the bike that you can kind of see in a few pics that could probably be rubbed off. There is a little rust on the rims. Just look at the pics and ask questions if you need to. This is an extremely nice 60 year old survivor that is a fantastic piece of American history!! I got it at an Ohio farm auction a few years back in exactly the condition you see. It has not been messed with. You don't find them this clean, this original, this old, and FOR SALE very often!!!!!!
